Dink & Heathyr set a date for their wedding, January 1st or January 10th 2010. This is really cool, it gives me plenty of time to get this weight off and get back in shape and to save up some moo-lah. Good thing, too, because Heathyr asked me to be her Matron of Honor. I was very touched.

It gave us something to celebrate on Saturday night - as Kim & Gillian were already over when Dink & Heathyr came over. We popped open a bottle of champagne and had birthday cake! (I've gotten very good at this birthday cake thing - as in, the cakes taste really good, but my decorating skills are sub-par.) Heathyr then showed me the ideas she sketched out for bridesmaids dresses, which are very 50's/retro. I love them, I love the era of glamour and being girlie. I'll do the whole nine yards, including the hair, stockings, shoes, etc.

I'm also thinking of coloring my hair again. I haven't actually colored my hair since 2003, but I'm really not digging my natural hair color at all. It's very "blah". I've had minimal highlights here and there, to try and give it some lift & brightness, but it's not me. I don't want to go blonde again, because it's too much maintenance, costs too much money, does tons of damage to your hair and is extremely painful. I'm thinking red again, or a dark brown with red undertones. Anything is better than this humdrum dark blonde-light brown crap that's going on.

We're prepping for our house-guests who will be arriving late Tuesday night. So, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning!! I'm also trying to prep for Saturday night, which is girlie night, part deux, St. Patrick's Day theme! Kim is thinking of making soda bread and Gillian is going to make something called squeak & bubble (or something like that), and I'm going to make Irish Potatos. All I know is that I better just exericse all freakin' week or I'm going to tip the scales, LOL! I tend to over-do it on girlie nights, but as long as I get back on the wagon the next day and keep exercising, I've been doing ok.

Although, yesterday, Kim ended up staying until after the Simpsons, so for dinner I made a huge platter of tacos. OMG, they were soooooooooooooooooooooo good, but I ate way too much, even yesterday. I am on the 1000 calorie/day wagon for the rest of this week. Period. Tara already texted me this morning to see if I want to walk tonight and I was like "YES!!!"

I'm taking the "ALLI" diet pill along with my diet & exercise and this week I lost 3.5lbs when my average has been ½lb - 1½lbs for the last 5 weeks or so. I like this stuff, I highly recommend it, it does really work! You do have to eat right & exercise while taking it, but that was almost double what I've been losing! (It probably doesn't help that I'm a 30-something now).

Other than that, I've really just been a little annoyed at a few of my friends. That's mostly due to lame excuses that have holes in them and lack of communication. But I'm in a good mood this morning, so I think I'll save that for another day. :grins:

(I'm confused as to why I'm in such a good mood, too, because I've technically had a lousy morning! I woke up late, forgot my lunch, got stuck behind a MASSIVE car accident and got to work with a flat tire. Go figure!)

1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, your favorite kind of sandwich, or maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not.

2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.

3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.

4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.

5. When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions.

Which was my opening line upon entering the abode of Charles' parents. I went off of a couple of medications and started a different one, that combined with some bad eating habits (lately) and lack of exercise has caused me to gain quite a bit of weight in a short period of time. I'm going to join the gym, at least that way I can try to boost my metabolism.

OK, so yeah. Christmas was really nice. I/we got some good stuff!! =)

some of which inlcude:

(for me)

a Nintendo DS w/ Brain Age & Nintendogs (Dachshund edition!)

new winter (but fashionable, too) boots.

a pair of fuzzy on the inside, slip-on sneakers. (Really great as around the house slippers AND going out in comfy shoes!!)

a new purse & wallet (with a $50 bill inside - whoohoo!)

tops, pants & Jammies

hardcover copy of National Lampoon's True Facts (I highly recommend it for a good laugh!)

gift cards to Stein Mart, Macy's, Wawa

a Clydesdale Webkinz (which I named Amelie)

Charles got a bevy of clothes, new slippers, new books, a fight club tshirt, a 16x20 framed wedding photo in b & w that I matted myself!, wawa & best buy gift cards, a new receiver (for our tv/stereo), socks and fun stuff like that. =)

We got a crap-load of booze, embroidered towels, napkins, scarves, candies, coffee's, teas, books, etc.

It was a very nice Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas dinner w/ Charles' family!

Kim made it to Scotland safely, and she, Nathan and I have been keeping touch via text msgs & emails - they are definitely having a good time!

I wish everyone a happy new year!!

Here are the rules
(1) Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
(2) People who are tagged need to write a post on their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules.
(3) At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
(4) Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

1. I cry during "Shelter Dog" commercials (or any sad animal commercials)

2. I constantly battle my weight, and I have to be super-careful b/c I had a massive eating disorder.

3. I sing very loudly in the car and imagine myself on stage, frequently drawing curious glances from other drivers at red lights.

4. I wore green underwear on my wedding day.

5. I love the smell of snow.

6. I have an amazing memory, it's scary good.

7. I can turn off street lights if I'm extremely emotional.

8. I look forward to "the chipmunk song" every Holiday Season!

Yeah.. I haven't updated in weeks. Oooops.

The wedding was great, it went off without a hitch. (I should point out here that if any of you are on myspace, facebook or bebo - I tend to do much more updating there!)

There wasn't any drama, only one really drunk/obnoxious person, and honestly the night was beautiful and flew by. It was over far too quickly for my tastes, I'm really happy we invested in a videographer.

All the bridesmaids got along despite some drama earlier on in the year and everyone showed up, had a good time and partied until well into the night (back at the hotel after the reception.)

Married life isn't much different than it was before other than a closeness you develop with your spouse. Standing there, declaring your love for one anohter in front of everyone makes you feel... I can't explain it.. but it's a bonding experience. If you've done it then you know..and if not, when you do it, you'll know. =)

There also was a love-match made at our wedding, go figure! And because it involved Nathan and someone we already knew, we're pretty dang happy about it. :grins: The guilty parties know who they are. =)

On that note.. I'll try to update more often!!

The Everything Test

There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.

Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-)

You are more logical than emotional, more concerned about self than concerned about others, more atheist than religious, more dependent than loner, more lazy than workaholic, more traditional than rebel, more engineering mind than artistic mind, more cynical than idealist, more leader than follower, and more introverted than extroverted.

As for specific personality traits, you are outgoing (100%), innovative (86%), intellectual (78%), romantic (71%).

Punk Rock80%
Emo Kid78%
Life Experience

Your political views would best be described as Libertarian, whom you agree with around 73% of the time.
Your attitude toward life best associates you with Upper Middle Class. You make more than 85% of those who have taken this test, and 4% more than the U.S. average.

If your life was a movie, it would be rated PG-13.
By the way, your hottness rank is 67%, hotter than 72% of other test takers.

Your Score: Heart of Gold

You are 60% Independent, 60% Idealistic, 60% Intimate, and 70% Indulgent!

The Heart of Gold
Independent, Idealistic, Intimate, Indulgent

You are the most loving of hearts, the Heart of Gold. You possess all the most loving qualities, intimacy, the desire for closeness, and an idealistic view of love. At the same time, you are not bound by love, and so stand on tall on your own. You know you will find love and aren't worried about not acquiring it - it is only a matter of time, and you are happy in the meantime waiting. You are the purest of all hearts, loving and self-assured, as complete and whole as a heart can be.

Matches for the Heart of Gold:

The Slave to Emotions
The Slave to Emotions values all your ideals of love, but is more dependent on it than you are. This if okay for you, because though you're independent, you also want to be loved and being loved so much makes you happy. The Slave will definitely appreciate you for loving them, and you will appreciate them in the same way, making for a very strong match.

The Heart on Sleeve
The Heart on Sleeve is idealistic and intimate, just as you, but desire love and is more prone to want conflict. But being the loving type that you are, you can put up with this,k as you know their true nature, and will come to respect them for not holding back their true emotions.

Your exact opposite is Soldier of Fortune.

Avoid Realists, who may not live up to your ideal standards, and perhaps Explicits if they do not live up to your ideals of love, but there are few types you don't get along well with.

It's been a month since my cousin passed away. My friend Linsey's wonderful kitty passed away a couple days ago. One of the guys I work with - his dog just passed away, too.

I'm just saddened by it all.
